When you wake up in the morning, the king salmon will be running up the river right outside your back door. While the kids sleep in, you can saunter out to the water’s edge, stoop down and run fingers through the sparkling turquoise water. After a few minutes, you’ll step back, ease your way onto your majestic timber-framed porch and watch the everlasting sun shimmer atop the legendary Kenai River. Your wife glides up beside you, offers you a cup of hot Kona coffee, the beans flown in fresh yesterday on the Pineapple Express. As she puts her arm around your waist, you notice her hair is laced with the scent of evergreens and the open air all around you.
